Astrology for the Week of July 16, 2012

The theme for this week is Purification: Sweat Lodge Card.  The teaching is to purify some aspect of your life.  It may be time to cleanse negative thoughts or attitudes.  It also can mean to let go of people who are pulling you down and stopping your forward movement.  Purification always makes way for new life force to enter.  This is so you can shine in your own right.

On Tuesday, July 17, we are experiencing a Mars-Pluto square, which will be challenging as we are experiencing Mercury and Uranus retrogrades.  Normally Mars-Pluto square signify a time for creatively transforming the world around you, but with the retrogrades in place, frustration, delays, confrontation, betrayal, power struggles and disagreements come to the surface.  You are ready to move forward but feel yourself being held back.  So, take time to examine what really needs to be done, as emotions will be high.  Are there loose ends to tie up, or something you need to let go of?  Choose your battles wisely and try not to control everything in your life otherwise y our energy will be scattered and you will not get anything done at all.

Wednesday, July 18, we will experience the peak of a Mars-Uranus-Pluto t-square, which started last week.  This adds Uranus into the equation from Tuesday, which is the addition of sudden change to the intense confrontational energy.  Focus on being in the moment as much as possible, as this energy increases the odds of accidents.  Being mindful will make you more careful.  With Mercury retrograde in the picture, technology can be affected, so back up hard drives.

 We will also experience a NEW Moon in Cancer at 9:42 pm PDT.  The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “A violent storm in a residential canyon filled with valuable homes.”  I find it so interesting that this is the symbol for this New Moon.  These symbols were devised nearly 100 years ago and there is a different one for every degree in Astrology.  (Visit http://sabian.org/sabian_symbols.php).  Yet, this one depicts the energy this week.  The message is that family may be the source of the conflict this week.  Again, this is to clear out limiting beliefs that have been passed down from generation to generation so new beginnings can happen.  .

Sunday, July 22, Jupiter becomes sextile to Uranus.  This energy will be mentally stimulating.  This energy will be welcoming after the intense energy earlier as it also indicated sudden unexpected opportunity.  After frustrating obstacles and delays, many possibilities emerge at this time.

The card that I pulled is the Child of Fire from the Gaian Tarot.  Look at the delight on the face of the child as he watches the fire.  The fire can be many things from a source of warmth to one of destruction.  The message here is to be mindful of how you react to the changes in your life.  Are you watching your life from the perspective that you are helpless and losing something; or are you in awe of the power of the transformational process?  Being in awe allows you to harness and use this power.
