Astrology for the Week of April 15, 2012

By Michele Freeman

The theme for this week is acceptance. Eckhart Tolle has the most wonderful quote. “Accept –the act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chose it. Always work with it, not against it…This will miraculously transform your whole life.”

The first part of the week is relatively quiet however, working with acceptance will be challenging enough.

Monday, April 16, Mercury moves into Aries. This will fuel the desire to be independent and to develop self-awareness. Key words are direct, pioneering, rash, and aggressive. Pause before saying whatever comes into your head.

Thursday, April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus bringing out the stubbornness in all of us. We know that we are right so why doesn’t everybody else see that? Relax and practice acceptance and take time to enjoy the things that are going right in your life.

Saturday, April 21, we experience a New Moon at 12:18 am PDT. The New Moon is in Taurus (1º35’) which will make this the ideal time to implement new projects and new beginnings. New Moons are the ideal time for new beginnings but with it being in Taurus accelerates this energy.
The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is “An electrical storm illuminates the heavens and the forests.” Set your intention that you experience this illumination. It is now the perfect time.

Sunday, April 22, the Sun sextiles Neptune which is a positive working aspect. Mercury is conjunct Uranus at the same time so look for Divine inspiration and guidance. Slow down a bit so that you can hear and receive the answers that you desire.

The card that I pulled for this week is the Nine of Fire from the Gaian deck, which will help you, receive the Divine answers and messages. This is what Joanna Powell writes about the Nine of Fire. “A man has retreated to a red rock cave, a scared spot where energies gather, in order to replenish his own life –force. He seats himself in meditation and soon the kundalini serpent begins to rise. He is radiant with inner fire, connected to heaven and earth. He experiences himself as a be-ing of light, as well as a being of flesh and blood and bone.”

For those of you who have trouble meditating, here is a version that works. First, place the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth behind your teeth (Fire point in Qigong). Then breathe in through your nose for a count of 4, hold the breath for 7 counts and then breathe out through your mouth for 8. Do 4 rounds.
