Astrology for the Week of July 5, 2010

The theme for this week is Rites of Passage: Change. There are seasons and cycles for everything. Let go of trying to control your life by demanding that the world revolve around your agenda. It is a losing battle. Instead observe the cycles of life. Remember the phrase, “this too shall pass.” Change is the only thing that you can count on in life. Observe and honor the changes that are occurring. Rite of Passage says to notice how far you have come. You are not in the same place you were a year ago. Let go and let live. This will bring magic into your life.

The week begins with Uranus going retrograde on Monday, July 5, 2010. This will be a day of intense energy and change. Retrograde means that you will be revisiting the issues you just experienced the past year. Did you really let go and finish them? This energy will make you aware of the areas that need completion.

Thursday July 8, Venus aspects Neptune by bringing in an air of confusion in your relationships. It will be difficult to determine if you are being delusional and overly optimistic. So, don’t make major decisions about relationships today as your judgment may not be as keen and detached as it should be.

Friday, July 9, Mercury is very active today, so expect lots of mental activity. This will be a good day to speak your truth, get creative, find practical solutions to problems, and for long range planning.

Saturday, July 10, Venus will be active like Mercury was yesterday. This will be a good day to heal old wounds and experience quantum shifts in key relationships.

Sunday,, July 11, Mercury is dominant today making it a good day for learning and communication. A Solar Eclipse in Cancer makes it a great day for new beginnings with family, home and for revelations on a soul level. This energy is similar to a New Moon but more intense and its effects can be felt for 6 months to a year. So, take time at the beginning of the week to discover your true intention in those areas that the Eclipse will affect. Be proactive and consciously set your intention instead of living by reacting to the events that happen in your life. You do have choices in those areas, so take the time to find out what they are.

The cards that I pulled for this week are:

Comparison. You may easily fall into the trap of comparing your life to others. And yes, the grass does look greener on the other side. But by feeling that way, it keeps you stuck where you are. Let go of judging yourself and see the world the way it really is. Nobody is higher and nobody is lower, nobody superior and nobody inferior. Everything is perfect.

Weasel: Stealth. This is a difficult power totem to experience as weasel energy is strong. It will make you feel that you can do everything all at once and you will try to do that. Weasel energy cautions you to be more selective with the activities in your life. This will make you more powerful. Take the time to focus on one thing at a time. If you are multitasking, you are not in the moment and therefore, you are leaking your power.

Chang O: Contemplation. This is a Moon card that is associated with the Hermit. This card is a reminder to take time to withdraw from the constant activity of your world. Remember the theme for this week: cycles of life. Our world, which is built on the Puritan Ethic, equates being busy with being close to God by warning that an idle mind is the Devil’s Workshop. This is not accurate and does not honor our true nature. We need time to stop. We need time to breathe and we need time to contemplate. The key word here is balance. Put balance back into your life
