Astrology for the Week of February 7, 2011

With Saturn going retrograde last month on January 26, we are being confronted with old beliefs from the past and actually this is not new to you as the planetary energies have been forcing you to look at these issues the past two years. So, I know, when I say that we are doing it again, many of you are moaning and groaning as you have been actively working to release these issues. The good news is that you have and the bad news is that beliefs are complicated. There are some things that you need to understand about beliefs in order to change them: (1) beliefs came first, (2) the world reflects your beliefs back to you and (3) beliefs are passed down to us from our ancestors through energetic systems such as past lives. However, if you do not believe in past lives, it does not matter, as studies with twins separated from birth and raised in different environments have shown, emotional and physical reactions, attitudes of life and other beliefs are passed down to us in our DNA. This is what the Bible calls “the sins of the father.” So, this week, think about your beliefs in a larger context. Think about the patterns of energy that has been passed down to you. Think of what you believe is true and it may not be. Think about how you can transform and change this energy which will not only change the past for your ancestors but also change the energy going into the future. This is what 2012 is about – changing and balancing the patterns of energy.

On that same note, I have been asked about 2012 as it is the end of a 5,125 year cycle (which has happened several times before). Will it be the end of the world? No more so than December 31 being the end of the world. It is not just the end of a cycle but the beginning of a new one. And remember this is not the only cycle. There are cycles within cycles and most of them are not affected by 2012. Also remember that cycles do not abruptly end or begin. With 2012, the energy began to change around 1996 and will continue that transformation through 2028. So look back and see what started to happen with you in 1996 and this will allow you to understand the current transformational process.

The information that I have been given is that 2012 is the end of the era of the ego. Ego has reigned supreme and has ruled our world. We see it in our government, corporations, money, religions and yes, even new age “law of attraction” thought. This is what happens when anything, even something good, gets out of balance. Does this mean that we will become egoless? No, the ego is essential in order to perceive, understand and to live in our world. It just has had the upper hand for a very long time. 2012 is the year of finding balance within ourselves which will be reflected out into the world. It must happen within before it can happen without.

So let’s go to the energies for this week. On Tuesday, February 8, Chiron, the asteroid of healing, enters Pisces for the next seven years. Now remember even though this will bring positive energy for healing, sometimes how the healing happens may not be the way you want. Also while Chiron is conjunct with the black hole, Cygnus X-3 through the end of March, the breakthroughs may not be evident for at least 5 years. Just remember important seeds of healing are being planted now. Be patient and trust.

Wednesday, February 9, Venus is conjunct Pluto. This is a strong energy that makes you want to seek intense love experiences or take current ones to a new level. It also can be a catalyst to release ones that are draining the life force out of you. Remember love and money go hand in hand, so it could also involve experiences with finances, work or creativity.

Friday, February 11 is an interesting day as it concerns another aspect of the Mayan calendar, the Ninth Wave of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. Some people believe that this event which is a peak of a cycle which will continue for another 2500 years starts today whereas others believe that it will begin on March 11, 2011. Nevertheless it is either happening now or very soon. The ninth wave itself ends on October 28, 2011 and signifies the Age of Flowers. This age signifies a shift from focusing on what the ego wants to becoming a unified consciousness working for the good of all. To create this balance, the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics applies. This can be easily illustrated through the rules of the Etch a Sketch which states that in order to draw a new picture, it must be turned upside down and shook hard to erase the original picture. Only then do you have a clean slate to begin a new picture. (Michele Freeman, 1994)

This coincides with what I have perceived on an astrological level. I was asked to do a chart for 2012 and my impression was that 2011 would the disruptive challenging year of endings. 2012 is relatively calm in comparison. So, it is happening now and not next year.

Sunday, February 13, the Moon’s nodes change. The south node will move from Taurus to Gemini and the North Node moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius. The South node represents what is easy for you and what will hold you back. In this case, it moves from acquiring security and possessions to being concerned about how others perceive you and the image that you project. The north node represents what help you during this time of transition. It may not always be easy to do. The move from Scorpio to Sagittarius signifies a change from wanting to have all the answers to life and running from workshop to workshop or reading every new book in order to try to find them to questioning all aspects of reality including current spiritual beliefs. The north node in Sagittarius says that the answers are not out there but inside of you. What do you believe and not what you have been taught or want to believe? What is the truth? You have to find it by yourself in the silence inside of you.

The card that I pulled for this week is: Ace of Wands – New Beginnings. You are in the process of being reborn. Remember everything is energy including beliefs. Let go of the past and learn how to use this energy to your advantage. You did not get sabotaged in life and then the belief happened. The belief happened first.
